Aspen Updates April 29, 2016

Congratulations to Aspen Readers!  On April 26th and 27th, Aspen students participated in Buddy Reading, as part of our Aspen Read Around the World Challenge.  As a school we were able to add 10,600 minutes to our grand total.  Third through Fifth grade teachers paired up with Kindergarten-Second grade teachers and provided their students an opportunity to act as reading mentors to younger students. The event was greatly successful and fun was had by all.

Aspen’s last Family Night of the year is Friday, April 29 – it’s Bingo Night!  Pizza will be available to purchase.  Aspen is teaming up with VHHS students to support the High School’s sister school, the COVE in Uganda.  All pizza sale profits will go to the COVE.  Please be sure to RSVP so we can plan appropriately.  Hope to see you there!

The April Birthday Breakfast with the Principal has been rescheduled for next Friday, May 6.  If you have a child with an April birthday, please call to RSVP for your choice of hot breakfast (breakfast pizza) or cold breakfast (yogurt with cinnamon bears).

All students brought home an invitation for Aspen’s Open House and Music Program.  Kindergarten, first and second grades will be performing on Tuesday, May 3. Third, fourth and fifth grades will be performing on Thursday, May 5.  We are very proud of our students’ accomplishments.  Please join us in celebrating our students and enjoying an evening of music!

Our 5th grade students will be walking over to Middle School North to see students perform Seussical the Musical on Wednesday, May 4 at 9:00 a.m.

To all parents of current Kindergarten through 5th grade students:  You will be receiving in the U.S. mail the registration information (infosnap) letter for your child(ren) for next year.  Please follow the instructions given in the letter.  It is very important that you complete your online registration BY MAY 16.  Students will not be placed in a class or on a bus route until the online registration is complete.
