Your opinion matters! Click here to tell us what you think in the state’s annual 5Essentials Survey. If your children attend more than one district school, please base your survey answers on one school. You may answer the survey for each school. The survey provides a unique opportunity for parents to have a voice in improving their schools. The 20-minute research-based survey will help District 73 identify strengths and weaknesses in its schools’ learning environment.
Parents, if you haven’t done so already, please add the REMIND app on your phone. REMIND is a free, safe and simple messaging tool that gives you important updates and reminders about school. This is especially helpful during the winter months when we have late starting buses – a message is sent out as soon as we learn about a late bus in the morning.
To receive messages via text, text @aspensc to 81010. You can opt out of messages at anytime by replying, ‘unsubscribe@aspensc’. Having trouble using 81010? Try texting @aspensc to (847)512-8709 instead.
We have an abundance of lost and found items. Is your child missing a coat, sweatshirt, sweater, gloves, hat, etc? Please stop by and check out our lost and found. Here’s a tip to cut down on lost items – put your child’s name in them. Many times coats have a specific tag sewn right into it that allows you to write a name. All items will eventually be donated if they are not claimed.
MAP and ACCESS testing is continuing this week. Again, a good’s nights sleep and a good breakfast is a great way to help students do their best on the test!
The middle of the second trimester was January 18. Mid term reports go home on Tuesday, January 31.
Mark your calendars now for the next early release day, which is Thursday, January 26. Just as a reminder, all students will have lunch before they leave early that day.
