FIELD DAY IS COMING!
We have a great day of fun and fitness planned for May 24 – come rain or shine (if it rains, we will have a modified Field Day indoors). Field Day is a day all our students look forward to. All grade levels will participate at different times throughout the day. We are still looking for parent volunteers to help run stations, so if you are interested in volunteering your time, please email Courtney Lord, one of our PE teachers, at firstname.lastname@example.org. If you choose to help us out on Field Day, we will provide lunch for you! We’d love your help and are looking forward to a great day.
REGISTRATION FOR GRADES 1-5 DUE MAY 18
You should have received the registration packet for the 2018/19 school year in the US mail at the beginning of the week. Your next step is to read through the information, complete the online portion via the PowerSchool Parent Portal, or if you are leaving the district, please send back the paper form with the NOT RETURNING box checked and with your signature and date. Please register by May 18. Students will not be placed in a class or on a bus route until online registration is complete. Failure to do so will result in your student being dropped from enrollment. If you have any questions, please contact the District Office at 847-990-4200.
OPEN HOUSE/MUSIC PROGRAM
Congratulations to all our students for putting on a fantastic musical performance at our Open House/Music Program last week. Thank you, also, to all parents who came and visited their child’s classrooms and celebrated their work. We are extremely proud of all our students and the wonderful things they have accomplished! Special thanks go to Mrs. Manchester and Mrs. Luce who worked hard to put together a great performance, and to Mr. Manchester who helped with the sound equipment and set up. Great job!
MID-TERMS GO HOME
Did you receive a mid term report from your student? If so, please take a look at it, sign and return the report card envelope to school ASAP.
SCHOOLKIDZ SCHOOL SUPPLY ONLINE ORDERS
Your child should have brought home an order form from SchoolKidz, a Staples Company, for school supply kits. Online orders can be placed until June 1st, and paper order forms are due no later than May 25th. Supply kits will be delivered to your home between July 30 and August 3. Skip the crazy school supply shopping trip and order through SchoolKidz today! Click here to download the order form.
ROLLER SKATING BEGINS IN P.E.
Roller skating in P.E. classes for grades 2-5 begins on Monday, May 7. This great activity helps enhance student’s balance, coordination and motor skills, while also enhancing cardio-respiratory endurance. They will learn basic roller skating skills, which includes forward and backward skating, cornering and stopping. All students must wear writs guards and helmets. What a great way to get exercise!
FINAL MAP TESTING FOR THE YEAR
MAP testing takes place during the month of May. Help your students get lots of rest and eat a good breakfast in preparation of the testing. And remind them to “do their best on their test”!
